3 Keys to a ROTH IRA

ROTH IRA’s have been around since 1997, but many people still do not utilize this valuable option. Here are three key reasons you should consider a ROTH IRA.

  • While ROTH’s do not provide for current deductibility, earnings grow tax deferred and once qualified may be distributed tax free
  • Traditional IRA’s require that withdrawals begin no later than age 70 1/2. ROTH IRA’s have no such requirement allowing you to preserve more of your wealth for your heirs.
  • ROTH IRA’s while intended for retirement, can also be utilized for a dependents college education to an extent. Between tax benefits for college tuition and the tax free nature of ROTH IRA’s, this funding option can be very beneficial.
